MOC 5: Photography Challenge (ohne Menschen)

Für die Challenge an Tag 5 sollten wir ein Foto ohne Menschen verwenden. Nichts einfacher als das! Dieser Drache hatte es mir schon angetan, als ich ihn zum ersten Mal gesehen habe, und ich glaube, ich könnte noch zehn Layouts mit dem Foto machen.

For the challenge on day 5 we were supposed to use a people-less photo. Well, that's easy! I loved that dragon at first sight and I could probably make another ten pages with the picture.

Ganz unten sehr ihr einen Screenshot mit allen Layouts des Albums. Wieder ein Projekt geschafft, und ich bin sehr zufrieden damit.

MOC 1: Blind Scrap

Heute reiche ich noch mein erstes Layout für den MOC nach. Die erste Challenge war ein "Blind Scrap" - man bekommt ein paar Anweisungen und macht danach sein Layout.

Dieses Jahr sind mir endlich mal ein paar Feuerwerksbilder geglückt, weil ich mir ein ziemlich praktisches kleines Stativ mit Fernbedienung gekauft habe, das ich um die Balkonbrüstung gewickelt habe. Ha!!!

Today I am showing you my first MOC layout for a blind scrap, i.e. you scrap your page according to a few instructions. 

This year I could finally come up with some fireworks shots because I bought this nifty little tripod with a remote control that I wrapped around our balcony railing. Love it!

DYD 2017 - Album Cover

Der Dezember ist in aller Munde. Viele planen, bereiten vor und überlegen, was für ein Album sie dieses Jahr machen wollen. Ich habe meine Pläne - wie üblich - wieder einmal völlig über den Haufen geschmissen. Erst wollte ich ein 6x8 Album machen und hatte schon das Cover fertig:

Während des Halloween Bashs gab es auch eine Inspiration Challenge, bei der man sich aus drei Mood Boards eines aussuchen sollte. Alle waren herbstlich - halloween-ish, also war das keine große Herausforderung.

Das Zitat von Thoreau hat mir gut gefallen, also habe ich mir dafür ein Stock Foto von ein paar Kürbissen ausgesucht. das bekommt man gleich Lust auf einen Herbstspaziergang, oder?

During the Halloween bash there was an inspiration challenge with three mood boards to choose from. All of them were about autumn or Halloween, so not big challenge there.

I really liked Thoreau's quote , so I went with a stock photo of some pumpkins. You immediately want to go for an autumn walk now, right?

Art Journaling: Frühling - Monthly Muse Oktober Woche 4

Für die letzte Woche der Oktober Monthly Muse blieb noch der Frühling übrig. Die Farbpalette, die ich mir aussuchte war richtig frühlingshaft - oder auch sommerlich, deshalb fand ich genügend Produkte in Just Jaimees Sommer Storyteller Kits, nämlich vom Juli 2017 und dem Kit Hadley, das, glaube ich, auch aus einem Sommermonat ist. Der Rest ist aus anderen JJ Kits, außer dem Doodle, der von Dawn Inskip stammt.

For the last week of the October monthly muse the season left was spring. I chose a very spring-y or summer-y colour palette and found enough material in Just Jaimees summer storyteller kits, from July 2017 and Hadley which is, I believe also from a summer month a couple of years back. The rest is from other JJ kits, except for the doodle which comes from Dawn Inskip.

Und wieder ist eine Seite für mein London 1994 Album fertig. Diesmal mit den typischen Londoner Wahrzeichen, Harrods, schwarzes Taxi und roter Doppeldecker Bus.

Das Foto oben links ist ein Stock Foto, unten links eine eingescannte Postkarte. Ohne all dies wäre ich echt aufgeschmissen....

And yet another page for my London 1994 album done. This time with the typical London landmarks, Harrods, black cab and red double decker bus.

The photo top left is a stock photo, bottom left a scanned postcard. Without all these I'd be at a loss...

Layout: I heart fall

Bei einem Slow Scrap während des Hallowwen Bashs gab Cynthia uns so viele Instruktionen, daß mir erst fast der Kopf schwirrte. Ich habe dann auch erst danach mit dem Layout angefangen, da mir chatten und scrappen zuviel ist.

Obendrein sollte das Thema auch noch Oktober oder Halloween sein. Halloween kommt nicht in Frage, also dann eben Oktober. Trotz meiner anfänglichen Befürchtungen wurde alles gut.

At a slow scrap during the Halloween Bash we got so many instructions by Cynthia that my head was spinning a little. I only started with the page afterwards, chatting and scrapping at the same time doesn't work out that well for me.

On top of that the topic was supposed to be either October or Halloween. Halloween is out of the question so October it was. In spite of my apprehension in the beginning, everything turned out alright.

Getting creative with templates

Bei The Lilypad gab es kürzlich einen Chat, aus dem sich eine sehr schöne Challenge ergab: Getting creative with templates. Normalerweise bin ich nicht gerade kreativ mit Templates, denn ihr Vorteil liegt ja darin, daß man sich eben NICHT überlegen muß, was plaziere ich wo usw.

Aber ich mag eine gute Herausforderung, also habe ich mir eine Template gesucht, mit der ich mich austoben konnte. Und wurde fündig mit dieser Template von Little Butterfly Wings des M3 Kits vom Februar.

At one of the chats at The Lilypad there evolved a very nice creative challenge, Getting Creative with Templates. Normally I am NOT creative with templates, what's the point of using one if you then go and shake it up. Might as well do it from scratch then.

But I do love a good challenge, so I looked for a template where I could go all out. And found this one from Little Butterfly Wings that came with the February M3 kit (which happens to be one of my favs).

Wieder eine Seite meines London 1994 Albums geschafft!

Die Layouts gehen alle sehr schnell, einerseits, weil die Templates schon so ausgefeilt sind, daß man kaum noch Embellishments braucht, andererseits, weil ich mich dann auch tatsächlich auf das Nötigste beschränke. Sicher, man könnte noch drunter irgendwelche Masken anbringen und obendrauf jede Menge Zeug, aber das gefällt mir hier nicht. Manche Layouts sind ein bißchen detaillierter als andere, aber im Großen und Ganzen sind alle ziemlich simpel.

Another page for my London 1994 album. The layouts are all done really quickly. One reason are the templates which are so sophisticated that you hardly need any embellishments. Another, because I really limit myself to the necessities. Sure, one could add masks underneath and tons of dimensional stuff on top, but I don't like that here. Some album layouts are more detailed than others, but on the whole they all are pretty simple.

Layout: Make every moment count

Bei dieser Challenge sollten wir ein schwarz-weiß Layout kreieren mit nur einem Farbtupfer. Nicht gerade meine Stärke!

Es hat Spass gemacht, die ganzen Papiere und Elemente in Grautönen zusammenzusuchen, denn von Desaturieren von Elementen halte ich nicht viel. Mit hat natürlich (wieder einmal) mein Lieblingskit "It's not just black and white" von Mirjam weitergeholfen, über dieses Kit kann ich nicht genug Gutes sagen. Hier siehst du das Bundle davon.

With this challenge we were supposed to create a page in black and white with only one spot of colour. Not my strength, I like it colourful.

Anyway, it was fun to gather all the black and white materials. It would never occur to me to desaturate, I'd rather hunt for the right product. My favourite kit "It's not just black and white" from Mirjam helped (once more). I can't say enough good things about this kit. You can find the bundle here.

Reisealbum London - The horse guards

Und wieder eine Seite für mein Londonalbum geschafft! Früher dachte ich immer, nur eigene Fotos für ein Album seien das A und O. Nachdem mir hier aber doch einige Motive fehlen, greife ich auf Stock Fotos zurück und merke, das ist gar nicht so schlimm.

Another page for my London 1994 album. I used to think that only my own photos are the real deal. But I am missing a lot of images because back then I just wasn't a scrapbooker and didn't take that many pictures. So I am using stock photos instead and find that I really like the combination of both.

Layout: Carefree joy & 6x6 inchies

Der erste Freitag im Monat ist BYOC Tag bei The Lilypad.

Mirjams Beitrag ist ein super hübsches Kit names "Carefree" und stoffüberzogene Knöpfe. Jungen-Layouts mit viel Rosa sind ja nicht gerade der Standard, aber wenn man will, geht alles. Mit einem schwarz weiß Bild kommen die starken Farben umso besser raus.

Woche 29: Links Panorama, rechts Pocketscrapping

2017 mache ich ja mein Jahrbuch halb und halb, jeweils eine Hälfte einer Doppelseite ist im Pocket Stil, die andere ist "anders" - was auch immer das "Andere" ist (hier z.B. Woche 4 und Woche 21).

Für diese Woche habe ich mich auch für die andere Seite für eine Template von Amy Martin entschieden (meine Pocket Seiten sind alle mit ihren Templates), die Platz für ein Panorama Foto hat.

Eigentlich hatte ich diese Seite für die Photography Challenge im Juli gedacht, bei der man ein Panorama-Foto verwenden sollte. Dann habe ich allerdings gemerkt, daß erwartet wurde, daß man das Foto aus mindestens drei Einzelfotos zusammen setzt - äh, nö! Wozu habe ich die Panorama App denn dann?

Alle Produkte (abgesehen von den Templates) sind von der entzückenden Storyteller Kollektion Juli 2017 von Just Jaimee. Das Farbschema hat mir so gut gefallen, daß ich wieder ein Abonnent von Just Jaimee wurde, und dafür das M3 Abo aufgegeben habe.

Art Journaling: Smile! - Monthly Muse August Woche 4

In der vierten Woche der Monthly Muse im August war das Thema - Double Exposure! Das hatte ich ja schon in Woche 1 und Woche 2 exerziert, somit kein Problem.

Mein Mann der Woche war Harold Lloyd. Das Foto mit dem Grinsen machte die Titelfindung ziemlich leicht.

Reisealbum London - Im Theater

Mein London-Album entwickelt sich sehr schön! Die Templates von Jen Maddocks sind richtig gut für Layouts, die so ein bißchen im Pocket Stil gehalten sind, aber trotzdem mit viel Abwechslung, denn die Masken sind sehr unterschiedlich.

Reisealbum London - St. Paul's Cathedral

Für diese Seite für das London Reisealbum habe ich eine weitere Komponente zum Album hinzugefügt- Stock Fotos. Für machen Sehenswürdigkeiten habe ich einfach keine (oder nur unzureichende) Bilder. Gott sei Dank gibt es Abhilfe.

Bei Wikimedia Commons oder Stock Foto Seiten kann man sich entweder gegen Bezahlung oder unentgeltlich Fotos herunterladen.

Einige Seiten (von vielen), die kostenlos Bilder anbieten:

• Morguefile
• Bossfight

Für dieses Layout habe ich das Bild rechts unten mit der Kuppel von St. Paul's Cathedral von Wikimedia Commons verwendet. Nach der Bearbeitung in Lightroom passt es ganz gut zu meinen eingescannten Fotos.

Index card Challenge - ein neues Format

Als gäbe es nicht schon genug Challenges und Projekte, die man angefangen hat, gab es im Juli (im Zuge von Christmas in July) eine zehn-Tages-Challenge mit Indexkarten im Format 5x3. Nie benutzt, aber im Prinzip ist das einfach eine etwas größere Journaling Karte oder ATC mit einem Tabellenreiter.

Jeden Tag eine Challenge – vier prompts täglich, zwei davon weihnachtlich, zwei zufällig. Es versteht sich von selbst, daß ich immer die zufälligen prompts genommen habe - Weihnachten im Juli, dazu hatte ich echt keine Lust.

Und ich habe es tatsächlich geschafft, es durchzuziehen und zu beenden. Unglaublich.
